There is an increasing awareness in society today that both paid and unpaid carers need far more recognition and support than what they are currently getting. Whilst there are a variety of voluntary organisations in the UK that are already doing a lot of good work in supporting carers in the general population, we at the Chinese Welfare Trust believe that there is a need to raise awareness of the specific support needs of Chinese carers within our community. We want to help make a case to improve their welfare as well as the care quality of the vulnerable elderly they look after.
